Just when you thought that the NL West was coming out of mediocrity last year, they’ve come right back down to it in 2008, but at least for D-Backs fans, they’re still on top.  You’d think that with the young talent they have, they’d have many more wins, but they’re just managing to get by, and have recently been trying to fight off the Dodgers for the top spot.  They’ve got an amazing 1-2 punch of Webb and Haren, but after that, there’s a slight dropoff.  The offense has been decent, led by Conor Jackson and Mark Reynolds, but there’s a few guys that have been underperforming, not to mention that Orlando Hudson and Eric Byrnes are out for the year.  That’ll hurt anybody.

Personally, I think they have the talent to hold off the Dodgers, but it’ll be an extremely tight race that will go down to the last week of the season.
